pm bigroppo he will put you right, not a place to fish on own and a bit awkward to get to end. But fishs well for big cod in the right conditions. Davy.

it is possible but a but not 1 of the safest marks to fish. planks missing all the way along the pier. most of the railings are missing and its a hell of a climb over or around 2 fences to get on

i fish this quite often in winter but i know of a few lads who have had police removing them from the pier over the last couple of months with a warning and if seen again will be fined so be carefull if you do go maybe make sure its dark but if u havnt been on before try go with some1 who knows

Police can't fine you unless the entry to property by unauthorised persons is defined in the bylaws.
At best trespass is the only thing you could be done for and the penalty for that is limited to the actual provable loss incurred by such an action, ie nowt.

Same goes for other ports too but some of them have got away with hitting people for fines where they really shouldn't have. The magistrates just don't understand the concept of provable loss by a trespasser.

If you remember the guy who broke into the Queen's bedroom while she was asleep, he only got done for theft of half a bottle of wince since trespass resulted in no loss to the Royal household.

Maybe the Port of Blyth thinks they are above Royalty

It's getting worse for piers getting closed, port authorities and local council should take a note from places that have good (open) piers and see the revenue they bring, should just have a notice saying no liability, enter at own risk !
