fished blyth pier off the end, with my mate 2day 9am-5pm. sea was massive and had trouble holding bottom. managed a 2lb cod last cast, my mate blanked. seen a couple of fish pulled in, bloke nxt to me had one 5lb12oz and dropped one about the same size. The corner seemed to fish best, seen 5 or 6 pulled in around the low tide. bait used lug, mussel, runney and razor.

me and my mate were down at around 6.30am. we decided against the idea of the pier as a guy coming off said it was pish and nobody had anything.
looked rough lol

we went to a local rock mark then headed off to the river blyth! i blanked and my mate got 2 small coalies, a rocking and a crab.

Chris Stringer won the Dave Jobson match off the pier today, three cod 6lb 15oz 6 drams and heaviest fish 3lb 7oz

It shows you hard it is at the mo. Near Perfect conditions for some of the marks and loads of blanks. Then again, we all must have been fishing the wrong marks and Chris with his cracking bag and huge heaviest fish was fishing the right one! Well done!

i was going to ask if anyone had herd how the comp went.

thats a good result for chris again, but you would have thourght a few bigger fish would be showing.

roll on when this blows over ;D

im hoping for a few decent bags of fish or at least a few big piggys ;D
the joys of being off work and having a fridge full of bait, as soon as it dies off, im out there hunting :D

I was fishing next to Chris on the pier today - however I wasted the first hour & a half at the ice-house catching tiddlers, so only managed the last 2 hours on the pier. Chris had got two of his fish early on before I arrived, then pulled the best one in with 5 minutes to go. Glad to hear he won - I had a few bites but no fish from the pier.

Gary :)

oops: I did get a fish on the pier after the comp finished (stayed on for an extra couple of hours) - a rockling hooked up the bum!
