Blyth pier - still fishable/accessible ?

It's been years since I fished Blyth pier (the South Harbour one, not Cambois) and I've no idea whether it's still accessible to anglers, or not as the case may be.

If it is, where is the best place to park where I stand a better than average chance of coming back to my car in one piece and not smouldering...

Anyone ?

Aye Blyth pier is still accessible...the same as always really.just park in the car park soon as you come off the main road.i suppose its like anywhere else for parking though....at your own risk!!

Thanks for that.

I'm cheesed off and fancy a couple of hours fishing tonight.

Blyth pier might be just the ticket, though I'm open to suggestions :)

Hi The odd codling coming off the pier, lately theres been loads of whiting getting caught, probably the best place to fish is just on the bend and chucking straight out or at the end chuckin towards Cambios Pier into the river lots off whiting on that shot and some good size ones, Hope this helps and good luck

Forgot to add if you drive up next to the barrrier and park on footpath it gets you closer, other wise the car park is ok as theres a camera on it from fergies yard it shoud be quite safe there and as Tilly says you take your chances

and if you follow a car in...the barriers dont come down so you get right up close to the pier entrance lol...just a pain waiting for a car to enter!

I as axe says wait until a car comes thro and dive in dont be like my son and wait for it coming down but the beam will send it back up if your close enough

That's interesting mate, I'll give it a shot next time I'm up there. One question though, what about getting oot!!
Is it the reverse of getting in?

Three small fish last night, up to about a pound and a half. Fantastic night with a bright moon and next to no cloud cover :)

Packed up at 2am, freezing cold and feeling back on a level.

Didn't chance the barrier in case it remodelled my car...

:)
