So "Seas the Day", my 40 year old Shetland, is now a fishing vessel thanks to my good lady's patience in letting me kit it out properly and some fantastic advice from our very own Kartonkel from NESA.

So first trip out today with Kartonkel to a favourite wreck mark. Plenty of mackies on the way but the wreck fish weren't playing ball.

But near the end one drift resulted in a 6lb ling and our last drop, easily my PB cod, dead on 17lb. That helps explain to the family why I bought a money hole on the water!

Congratulations.

It was a fab day and a lucky break to the dreadful weather.

We struggled firstly on the wreck, because (we thought) you forgot the Plotter and we had to -sort-of guess where the wreck is on my iphone...:)

Once we knew where we were (and found the plotter in your enormous bag!), it started knocking...and what a knock that was!!

Also mentionable that we only had 2 hours time .

September is my favourite month and has not even started...hope the weather gives us oportunities like today and you might break your PB soon and catch also a nice ling !

Well done mate. Norbert is a great guy. Very helpful

That's a very nice fish and it's 1/2lb over norberts PB aswell

Again congratulations mate.

....and roughly 7 1/2lb over Davids PB!

Nice one getting out through that little break in the weather, and congrats on a lovely fish. That's the way to do it.

Evil banter Mr Norbert :)

Norman - you are right this is how the real NESA works and I've been part of it for years, helping people to learn to cast from the shore and explore new marks they didn't know etc. Guess it's time to cash in the karma.
