Boat Fishing Marks - Any Alternatives?

When we go charter boat fishing out of Sunderland we always do wrecking or hard ground fishing.

Last time out we had a very quiet day and I was wondering if when the wrecks and hard ground marks are not producing any fish at all if anyone else had any other fishing marks worth trying for other types of fish i.e. flatties maybe from muddy/sandy bottom marks, any ideas or suggestions welcome.

if you have a gps you could try the spoil grounds which are about 2 miles off the piers. There are some nice flatties to be got there.

Thanks Jester I'll keep that in mind. The absence of any other ideas coming forward suggests there may not be any other alternatives which is what the charter boat skipper said!

chances are the skipper will have these marks but not many anglers want to try them, they all want to go wrecking or rough ground for cod. There are plenty more species to be had if you try for them.
