Boat House (Whitley)

Is the Boat House (Whitley Bay Beach) quite a small mark? meaning is it quite a narrow margin to fish within? or can it be fished to the left or the right...am I making sense?

I know it's very kelpy down that end so I'm guessing you want to try and fish into the areas where it's a bit clearer. Google Maps shows a narrow cut where the boats can be launched into...

you have quite a bit of room till about an hour before top water then your restricted a bit cos it pushes you back up the beach

what I mean is...do you actually fish smack bang in front of the Boat House itself? or can you deviate left or right by 20/30 yards? if you can only fish in front of it then the mark itself is quite small and could only accommodate a few anglers?

most people fish to the right of the boat place casting onto the sandy bit 2 hours before high and about the same after high on a good sea, we have had this before and its called the boat station anyway:D it can get weeded up a lot also:(:D

I used to fish there quite often and was told to turn right and about 100 paces up,used to get a few fish from there .high water again but if it is a big tide you have to be able to get back along concrete ramp if it races in.Unless you can climb up cliff wall!

If the beach has loads of weed dumped from previous heavy seas,it's a nightmare and the ebb is worse again. You spend more time reeling bags of weed in and picking the stuff from your line and gear. But if the beach is clear and a bit of sea on it's well worth a shot.Go down at LW and have a look you'll see the area to fish which is flanked by rocks either side. The prom to the North of the mark is a good shot on a big spring tide at HW.But the weed can be a problem on the ebb again.I normaly fish next to the steps in the corner casting south easterly. Some good fish have been caught here over the years.
