Alright Everyone,

I am new to the boat section of this forum but i am on the shore fishing one quite a bit. Its just an enquiry really i would like to know how i could obtain a boat mooring at north blyth or any where north of blyth :question::question:

I did have an 18' reiver sportsman until last year........I just had no way of launching the craft on my own, I work offshore so when i am able to go boat fishing everyone else is at there day job :mad::mad::mad:

So any info would be much appreciated as i am looking for a boat this year but would like to obtain a mooring first.

Thanks' in advance,

Swally

Hey mate.

I live in Blyth and last year was looking into this. I contacted the Harbour master in Blyth and was told that there are about 30+ people on their waiting list so none available. Port of Blyth number is: (01670) 352066

Seaton Sluice have a couple but your prone to kids wandering on your boat at night and the possible damage that might happen from that (plus if you boat has an outboard you will need to remove it if not in a secure place).

I think the closest secure place would be Royal Quays or Amble but they charge per ft so you looking about £1K plus for an 18 footer. Blyth do have a club just past the harbour but I think there a launch place as well so might not be best for you.

There is a club on the blyth side of the mouth of the Wansbeck but again not secure and tidal launched.

Hope this helps
