Got up for a 4am start to join skipper Michael to go potting. He decided to try a bit of fishing around Hauxley. We trolled lures along the reefs for a total of 31 pollack 3 cod and a mackerel. Hit the hotspot in one place when the fish below came out (with another 2 on the same trace and a good one for Michael).Didn't have scales to weigh it but it was over 10lb I think, the best we've had this season. I don't know if it's the same all over, but there were clouds of jellys in the water - never seen so many.
An enjoyable morning - fish for supper and a few crabs hoyed in as well.

So thats why we struggled early on eh Colin, you's had already caught them all! I copied you with a photo of the Island but mine was form the other side and no where near the quality of yours! Biggest codling we had tonight was about 6lb so not too bad for inshore.
Graham.

Didn't get the fish from the marks you know Graham, tried a few new ones.A 6lb cod is good from inshore though so you didn't do too bad. Took the pic of the island cos of a weird looking cloud above it. Mackerel was what we originaly went for but they are still patchy here - unlike jellies.

Wife is an amateur photographer and she loves the sunrise pic--you should send it off to the ITV weather channels they love those sort of pics.

Cracking fish and a lovely photo of a view I remember with fondness. I hope you dont mind but it is now my background pic on my pc :D

Jonny:)

Use the pic by all means jonny - I wouldn't profess to being a great photographer, I think its like fishing, being in the right place at the right time
