Braid to mono

Hi lads this might be on wrong part of nesa but here it goes whot is the best knot to tie braid to mono together

Hi mate, I started using braid this year and it hasnt been without its difficulties, a lot of trial and error and expensive mistakes!

I use the uniknot for just about everything but I tell you what it just does not work with braid for some reason - never use it.

I have learned a knot just for my braid called the "J knot" - so far, no failures. The leader knot is alright aswell but if your tieing your shock leader on the J-knot seems to be more compact for flying through the rings

Iv tryed 1 not sure wgot its called were ya make a loop with the mono then rap the braid round it 8 time up then 8 time back dwn then pull tight it seems to be the smallest 1 so far but still not sure if this will hold when out fishing

I use the albright when i use braid, had no problems up to now

I havent tried the uni with braid, best way to find out is tie it and test on an empty field

I just use the "albright" knot for attaching my shockleader to the braid and it's been no bother, easy enough to tie as well.

I was using an Albright knot last winter for 50 lb Berkley Fireline to 60lb mono and had no problems with it! When pulling out of snags it was usually the terminal gear that gave before the leader knot!

Just tryed doin the gt knot and i think it would be that easy when out fishing during winter but still a good knot tho m8

Hope thats not a try it later to the uni knot...seriously it will snap

As unbeatable as it is in my opinion for mono it just does not work for braid. I do not know why, but I learned the hard way and lost a few weights down the field.

Anyway did you get sorted bud? Took me a few days practice to sort my braid to mono knot

i have used 100lb braid on my abu 7500 for 8 year's now and have never ever used any shock leader and never found the need to

I did get sorted pal i used the albright knot and i have bought the 40lb braid with shock leader m8
