At my age excitement and new experiences are not good for me. I live a simple life, I have never had a credit card, satellite or cable TV and was very proud of the fact. I was happy enough with my five channels until digital TV forced me to get freeview. Well I nearly had a stroke with the choice! Then the storms at Xmas came and my tenement's aerial has not worked properly since and I have been reduced to 7 channels, I was pleased and relieved! Most flats have satellite or cable so replacement wasn't an option. Well after almost a month, Lynn had had enough and refused to set foot in my abode again until I got "proper telly."
So today the Virgin man came and put in the cheapest TV only package I could find. OMG I now have 80 channels! Sky, Universal, CBS, Discovery. I can now watch all those US dramas I could only watch at Lynn's flat. Problem is I fear I won't be able to drag myself away from the TV. I will become a couch potato and end up overweight........................Oh wait a minute!
I feel I have given in to consumerism and I am currently feeling sorry for myself and seeking solace in cans of coke and cream eggs, while watching "Criminal Minds."
And it's only 3pm! :red:
