Cack bait

Fished with Andy monday night, tried ID but he had no lugs,( so he didnt hear me) only jokin lads, he had only rag. We got some lug from another shop, and in all honesty, itr was like using water filled wormskins, absolute crap bait. Shant be going there again. Obviously old worms mixed with fresh-ish.
no need for it man. :(

I think most of us will have had that experience, Paul :(

It\'s one thing when the bait supplied to a shop is a bit below the normal standard - the diggers can only provide what they collect - but, as you say, mixing old with new.....there\'s no need for it.

bought my lug this afternoon i usually dig my own and i think i will never buy lug again judging by the standard of worm i got, they were mainly 1 inch long the biggest maybe 3inches including the tails. i would b ashamed to have these in my digging bucket and have put worms back 3 times bigger i think that they should b a minimum size on worms aswell as fish! this angers me more b cos where i usually dig and have done for 4 or 5 years now has over recent weeks been dug out so badly i think there will b no more worms left to breed for next year. at least if you put back the small worms they have a chance to grow and breed, but digging worms will wipe worm beds out like this is like netting undersize fish. in the end you are left with a nothing. sorry to moan in my first post but it gets my back rite up.

No need to worry about \"moaning\" in your 1st post on the Board, Patto........I don\'t mind a moan when it\'s justifiable.

Welcome to the site, by the way ;)

well having read this posting thought i would defend the tackle dealers a bit because i was once in a tackle shop that was having a delivery of bait and the dealer put the bait in his fridge in front of our eyes he checked a couple of packets when the guy arrived and all was fine we got our bait and headed for the beach when we got to the beach i opened my first pachket of worms and great but after opening my second packet shock horror they were cack but not to worry i persivered the next time i visited the tackle shop again i mentioned this and he told me he had had a few complaints and had a word with the bait digger and so it was sorted well i have never had bad bait off that guy since but if the tackle shop does nt know he cant do anything about it let the tackle shop know as he has probably been done as well

Fair comment sean mate, but the ones I had were mixed with newly dug stuff, Id say 75% crap in among it. literally water filled worms. I wont go as far as to name the shop, but Ill be having a word with him next time \\im there.

small tides and big seas mean its dogs work getting bait and the digger will have been struggling so he could have done the mixing but chat to the shop as i suggested before because he might be shocked as you

Welcome to NESA Patto.
Interesting thread this,I\'m not saying your wrong Sean but my experience is that the Tackle Dealer knows exactly what they are selling you in most cases and you should really be able to check what you are buying before you hand over your hard earned cash, some shops have there fridges on view others don\'t :exclam:

Paul, Thanks very much for that left over bait, combined with what I had left might make all the differnece if we can\'t get any in the morning.

Welcome to NESA Patto ;)
