Hello lads, just after a bit of information, used to go fishing with my dad god rest his soul to cairnryan on the concrete boats on the pebble beach. I want to take my boys there now. Does anyone know if you can still get down to them with the car. Cheers

Hi,

We were up there a couple of years ago and the new ferry port has taken up all of the area and access is not allowed. You can still get onto the rock edges a bit further on if you keep following the road or fish the beach the othe side of the breakers yard although i dont know if its productive there or not.
Have you tried Sandhead in Luce Bay?

It's one place i have never tried live bay. I hadn't realised that the ferry port had moved right up that way what a shame had some great night and days fishing off those concrete boats. Thanks for the reply will look onto luce bay

Looking at a few maps, on google is sandhead a shallow beach mark, or is there anywhere with deeper water access?

Yes Luce bay's shallow only any good in dark or when there's a side running during the day. East and west tarbet at the start of the mull is deeper water west tarbet deep water not as far to walk. East tarbet you need to head further up the side middle to three quarters the way up to get into the deep. I think cairn ryan breaksyard is still fishable but it's dodgey.
