Hi everyone,
I'm a new lass to Cambois, and am finding it an intreaging place.
I'm not really a fisher myself, but certainly will be having a go at some point
I found this forum whilst looking for some information on the area, and i am hoping some of you can help.
I would very much like to do some photography around the pier / industrial area, but am unsure where is safe to go and where the general public are allowed. Is it ok to get out onto the rocks with the turbines? (the row of smaller ones?)
And what is the deal with the strange wooden walkway nearby? Can you get over to Blythe that way?? (i'm guessing not!)
Can anyone also tell me the names of the huge rock formations, and also the names of the different areas of the beach (i have read 'hole' 'whale' 'wall' - can anyone specify which parts these are or tell me any more?)
If anyone knows anything about the industry (past and present) in the local area, please let me know.
I am aware there was a powerstation - is there to be a replacement one built anytime soon??
I have also read about a 5 ton whale which was washed up dead and then buried under the sand! - Where abouts is it buried?
I've been scouring the net - but it's not really very easy to find out information/history on the area! anything you know no matter how small - i will be greatful to hear... also stories about the area / folklore, your experiences.
Apologies for the barrage of questions! But i hope some of you will like to reply.
Felix.
