Can we have a Northern Soul thread please

I missed out personally and skipped straight into into "House" music after a frankly embarrasing flirtation with Heavy Metal. Anyone into dance music should doff their caps and pay homage to the lads and lasses that kept it real and continue to do so with the pure and particular vibe that is Northern Soul. I remember watching a mate of mine trying to adjust to this new dance thing that was acid house. He was spinning, leaping, shuffling and grooving all over the not, twitchy feet and loads of spinning, while we were slow stepping and hand dancing. His moves were fantastic but unfortunately he hadn't quite got managed to do it in time to the music :D

charlie i didn't know you were a fellow hoose heed , did you /do you still collect tunes ?? i stopped buying in about 2000 but still worship at the alter of mr tong's decks on a friday neet , my clubbing days are now over and done with now and i prefer to stand on a cold beach at 2 in the morning now instead of a dace floor :) "VIVA ACID HOUSE" YouTube - old school house mix @ stereo bar newcastle

Aye spent a lot of time partying and working in the dance music scene - from minging warehouses to slick superclubs.

Ive been into Northern Soul since I was 17, thats 34 years. Ive had thousands of discs through my hands. some damn good ones my ex wife sold when I left her, including "Major Lance Live at the Torch, on Contempo. Worth over £400 now. Ive just uploaded over 500 tunes onto my ipod.
I used to go to Wigan Casino, on trip bus. we used to meet in the Geordie Pride on a saturday afternoon. Some great memeories. 40" parallel bags, awesome man.
Im currently restoring a Lambretta Cento, 1964.

For under a tenner, Ill make a back up data disc for anyone, with over 500 Northern tunes on it, If yur interested, PM ,me, you should legally already own the tunes, so this is merely a backup disc.;) Uplad it as files, then either play with a media player, burn or load to ipod.

Sixfoot steve, I still have a video I think of you trying to copy my youtube video, and going ar** over t** at portpatrick!
