HI Harold,

I might be wrong (and if so I apologise in advance), but having seen many of these type of e-mails in the past, I have to say that I think you may be, unwittingly, passing on a hoax e-mail.

\'L\'etablissement Francais du Sang de Bois\' is a genuine organistaion dealing with blood transfusion issues, but their website mentions nothing of this appeal nor does the French Consulate (London).

Hoax e-mails follow a fairly standard structure:
- An association with a real organisation/person (credibility)
- A statement of undeniable fact (this bit is true, implying the rest of it is)
- An appealing/shocking, but unverifiable story (the hook!)
- A message to pass it on to everyone you know! (perpetuation)

I used to get alot of these, the one i remember recently was about an African girl that wanted a £10 donation so she could finance a trip to Europe to have an operation !!!! It could be true as most of the Doctors and Nurses in her country work in the NHS now !
\"Best to shed a quiet tear and forget about it\" :exclam:
Sorry if its genuine Harold.
