Working up in Ayr so took a spinning rod to try it out. Fished the small pier at the river mouth tonight for a few hours and did ok for this time of year. First to hit was a Coaley about a pond the a small pollick. But an hour later got my best ever bass 5lb 7oz got pic so will put up soon

Well done. I'll have to trawl my old photo's from the mid 90's, got a pic somewhere of my pb bass, just over 7lb - took it on a fairly light rod at Cambois outfall when it was still there, was a hell of a job to land it and my heart was racing on the lift out expecting to lose it!
