Was supposed to go to Causey park Morpeth to a caravan ralley, but it was switched because of waterlogged field, to Gosforth park (hard standing). By Saturday, board outa me brain, decided to nip home and take Lazy Daze out for a couple hours. So 11am launched at Cullercoats to find a lightish southerly breeze and the tide a couple of hours to low water. Made my way to the yellow can and dropped anchor. The tide swung the boat round quickly, and with the southerly swell, pulled the light miled steel flukes on the grapple anchor straight more than a couple of times. After about an hour, a kyak came along side asking if i'd caught owt, as I was telling him
no, my rod banged over which resulted in a nice little codling of around 2 3/4lb.
(Always was good at moaning them on). That was it other than 3 undersize codling. The wind was starting to pick up by 2pm, and I thought, thats enough, back in, hose the boat down, fillet the fish, and back to the caravan till Monday.:red:. Arthur
