Aye , the carp lads are breed unto themselves , they have some strange ideas

, some good ones as well mind , but I honestly think they get carried away a bit sometimes (most of the time

) . They take fishing to a whole new level with their critically balanced hair rigs and such likes.
Some of them have "proved" that the likes of these camo leads work by taking underwater video of carp spooking at the sight of a plain lead , I think it might have had something to do with the little red neon light on the camera flashing on and off when the carp came within shot myself

In all seriousnessness though , if that's what floats your boat and it gives you more confidence ...... go for it

Personally , I'd rather fish with a lump of bread on a hook tied direct to the mainline and fish it floating , though I do recall a particularly wily carp in Willies Well that swam round and round a floating crust with a hook in it and point blank refused to take it , I had to tie a large chunk of crust to the line 9" above the hook and pinch a piece of bread on the hook that sunk below the floating crust ....... worked a treat
