Cart from the boat

As yous all know too well ive been around the boat fishing scene for a while and the last few trip we have use this bait with great success ,to be honest i was very sceptical as it just didn't look right !
I'm a huge fan of using peeler from the boat but there's a new kid on the block now, have we just had a couple of lucky trips ? were we fishing in the right place ie rocky ground close in where this bait should work ,will it work in April-May time as well as peeler ?
I Know its been the big secret down Whitby on the uptiding scene but the question is .......IS IT JUST A SEASONAL BAIT ( WINTER )?
Or is it up to us to just try it out and see:)
did i say im a convert anyway :D

going to have to give this cart thing a try do you have to put the horse on as well:hallucine:
dont think you boyz have just been lucky think its down to really knowing your stuff cart or no cart:D;)

Can't see it not working all year round.

Bit more expensive then a box of squid and fresh mackerel out the sea though.

But with you's fishing comps all year and if its going to give you an edge over other baits, then i suppose its worth it.

I have always wondered why shore and boat anglers use such different baits? I remember the first ever charter we did, had rag and lugworm with just plain hooks and got pretty much laughed off the boat!

I can see it working well all year round ...................err then again you don't have Christmas dinner all year round do you ?
It was just a thought because the crabs are not stuffed with the red coral that makes the cart all year round its just the winter months correct me if im wrong

Suppose you'll have to freeze the good stuff now to use later

cart comes frozen anyway, it's the best way of keeping it on the hook. finger bandage works....sort of...even armamesh, the stuff the carp anglers use sort of works as well but half a mars bar size bait cottoned on works for me. If I have less of it I might stick some squid or worm on as well. I sometimes think it's all gone and I am sitting there with an empty hook.:) I have seen it work on a boat when all else seems to be hit and miss.:)
Then there is other times when it has been no better than squid and worm(like last week on Mistress:D)

Well there's a little eye in the weather on sunday morning for a few hours in amongst the snags to drop a few carts ! err and a rod with normal bait on for comparison ,,,,,,,,,,,,watch this space :D

did you get out? I was out on saturday for a few hours but only a few fish for me, tried squid worm cart and all the combinations, even tried peeler. non of the fish caught on board had a preference, very niggly little rattle bites even from the cod, never mind the whiting and bleggs.

hope you did better?:)
