Just watched the video Century Eliminator T1000 - YouTube

Absolutely no point in rods like that imo, hes throwing a codling about 4lb about the tip isnt even bent.Rods like that take any enjoyment out of fishing as you wont catcha hell of a lot of fish over 4lb in the course of a season

Hopefully get a lot of 4lb plus fish this winter, I have most other winter lol the rods designed to suit braid in rough ground, that's the design of the rod to get maximum distance and fish back. Not everyone's cup of tea though.

Whats the point of getting no fight out of the fish though?

They don't fight when there in the bag lol! There are very few cod that will give you a fight, certainly not from the NE coast.

Surely the rod is designed for your neck of the woods, thick kelp jungles/brutal rocks etc, where now the norm seems to be braid on a coffee grinder, get a fish on n get it's head up n keep winding till u have landed it,where a soft rod wouldn't take the strain/punishment.
Agree it's prob a pole n no good on my local clean beaches, but surey it does wot it say's on the rod,get a pig on n land it,a serious tool for the big boy's n girls.
Like mentioned prob not a rod for everyone.
Anyways just my thoughts
