Had our match next to the Police launch today on the Tyne. Ian Ainsley will update with scores but overall poor going.
Worst bit was my new Tip Tornado got stuck at the Spigot-lads from the Marine place tried boiling water-but in the end had to drive home with the rod sticking out of the front passenger window.
Once home WD 40 and some time and twisting got it apart again.

Not good Mick. Was gonna turn out but loaded down with man flu. I even went sick, first time in 3 years. Shame on me:mad:

Yes your best staying in the house out the way with man flu as if you did go out and a woman or girl caught it i would hate to think how long a stay in the hospital would be needed for them :D

Century recommend PTFE spray Mick, Vaseline is no good as it will attract loads of grit and sand which will end up knackering your spigot.

Used to have the same trouble as you with my TTLD but since finding this info it has been no bother - as soon as it starts to get a bit stiff a quick spray with the PTFE then a wipe down when dry and it is good for months again.

same happened to my zippy bullet the other night took me ages to get it apart just put plenty of pencil lead on it so hopefully it does the trick

That's the stuff. I use it after mine started to sick. Just a few quid from Halfords.

if you have a butt cap on the lower section try removing that first, or putting a hole in it, often its vacuum holding the sections together

Moved the cap and made no difference. Also tried the leg off my rod stand and inserted into rod-again no good as it did not reach. Think i,ll buy some of the stuff you recommend-theres loads on flea bay.

Mick it is about £3 for a can from Halfords and it will last you a lifetime. As said use it on my TTLD and it works perfectly.

Tried that PTFE spray from Halfords on my KWR and it didn't make any difference, I'm not saying it doesn't work but it didn't in my case. So next time I'm going for the vacuum theorem, it's my last resort apart from trying to bed it in with grease over a period of hours which I don't really fancy.
