Charter boat reports

I agree with you lingking same for the rest of the skippers none of us keep them, But when I read on here of other boats from Hartlepool a while back a skipper there got slag off cause some of his catch looked under size I got slag off the other week for the same reason my point meaning nobody seams to comment on here when they look under size from Whitby or is it they do not want to upset the Whitby skippers just the rest of us so called some thing to talk about let the rest of us get a bad name so the kings of Whitby are walking tall, There is one or two on that pic that do look under,

Not one will be under size at the festivals, because they all get weighed in and scrutinised.

I personally do not mind people taking -just legal- fish home...they taste lovely fried...
Small ling is my favourite table fish !

...what I find laughable is photos bragging with them:o;):p

Sounds a bit like "get your own back" time to me !
If someone takes undersize fish they deserve a hard time !
in my opinion charter boats would not take that chance and ruin a good reputation because its a tough buisiness as it is !

Not one of those fish in the picture of the heaviest bag is undersize all are measured on the boat and returned if undersize, undersize fish are elegal plus the weighmaster also measures them at the weighin every fish is over 35cm or they CANNOT BE WEIGHED the weighmaster would be the first to disqualify any undersize fish brought to the scales there is one thing which will probably change next year is the minimum size which will be nothing under 40cm can only be brought to the scales.

I personally would not do a "Biggest Bag" category...it only leads to contenders taking small (of course legal) fish and keeping them and take them ungutted to the shore.
Seems wrong to me

Alternatively you could just measure their length by the skipper and reward the "biggest bag" on total length, without taking them all to shore...

Fishing competitions around the world get criticised for killing unnecessarily for the sake of a prize...
