Fished Stonebridge with Callaghan48 on Tuesday and was disappointed to hear that someone had been using Powerbait which is against the fishery rules.
If a person wants to use powerbait then they should go to places that allow this method.
They must be pretty desperate to cheat just to catch a fish, they may as well spend their money at Asda and leave the fisheries alone and let the true angler get on with their sport.

Thats my rant for the week.

Spot checks now for all anglers, it only takes one to spoil it for all, up till now the fishery has been a relaxed affair,
They should be named and shamed.

John.

Seddo, The day of our meet at Witton, I reported two guys using worms, actually using bait elastic to lash a bunch onto the hook. Ar5eholes.

Technically I dont see why not if the fishery in question allows spinning, I take it your not talking jigging from a boat!!

No Biff I just read a post elsewhere of a lad who said he used them to catch some, there was a load in his picture and 1 or 2 comments by others made after his post, were what did you use to catch them rod wise and the lad replied telescopic rod nitelites and sweetcorn, then another lad said to him fair play but keep one step ahead and the lad said Ok no worries, it just lead me to belive it was not allowed. I did ask on the thread was it allowed but got no reply which just lead me to belive it was not allowed. Thats all Biff, thanks anyway mate.

My mate at work who is super intelligent (seriously) told me all about power bait. Its full of peraphones and hormony things that attract the fish.

Fish must think there luck is in when power bait is in the water.

Ah, now then. You said daylights, not nite lites. Nite lites work on flatties, but maybe the light attracts the fish, then they smell the bait. a tad unethical maybe, but where do you draw the line?

Powrbait, plastic sh1t for barbarians who can't catch trout properly.I'm having a running debate with a one at work. All he uses is powerbait on the NW waters won't even use worm(which is acceptable). :casstet: :casstet: :casstet:

What do you class as 'catching trout properly'? I may be a mile off but the powerbait method must be along the same lines as our top carp anglers using boilies and aftificial sweetcorn etc, totally alien to the environment but still accepted methods. Surely the use of powerbait shows how the sport is evolving and it also gets a lot of youngsters interested in fishing. I fly fish aswell as bait fish depending on what I fancy, and to be labelled a barbarian is a bit offish, but peoples opinions differ.
