Cod!!!

The moment I've been waiting for finally arrived. My first cod and what a beauty.

Fished jarrow, frozen crab lug nd squid used. First chuck about 9.45, had been in the water no longer than 5 mins nd got a canny knock. Fish on. Never had a cod bite before and it was coming in not so bad thn a few Tugs and the reel started to lock up. Ant was keeping me right. The shock leader was through the top eye before the fish showed, it a decent fish he said as he hand balled it up. What a cracker! Especially for my first. Weighed at 6.5lb. Chuffed, over the moon. Like a little kid I was. Then the wind really picked up and couldnt detect a thing. Reel the last cast in to find two whiting on, god knows how long they were there for but the went back fine but the cod was coming home.

Not the best of conditions tonight, but when you catch one like that first chuck, then it's hard not to persevere.

So same again tomorrow night eh? Maybe my turn this time though?
