Hi all.

Me and my good friend 'waco' fished Codgers corner (a.k.a. Brighams) today. waco got down before me at around 11am. I got down around 2.30pm. He had already had a few small whiting so at least there where fish feeding. First cast resulted in a whiting of 12ozs. After that there was only the a few tiny whiting caught.

We had some rite bother with a pair of absolute w@nker$ fishing at the angel. We were getting reasonably good casts considering the wind, but one of the w@nker$ kept casting over us for what reason al never know, but he was calling us worse than ****e for his wrong doing, what a massive arse-hole... :(:mad::mad: (rant over )

Anyways a little later I managed my first codling of the year, weighing a massive 4ozs! :D I had nothing else after that codling, whereas waco had another few tiny whiting, a tiny codling and a Dab. We called I a day at 6.30pm.

All in all a canny afternoons fishing for both of us bar the two pricks earlier in the day... Bring on Saturday, cannot wait! :)

Well done on the coddy mate. Nowt worse than inexperienced anglers chucking over yer, that's why I only fish the walkway and the likes as a last resort.

Know how you feel mate. Many a session ruined by people casting badly and not following the basic principles of tidal flow and how it affects the anglers either side of them.

Had same problem down ratty other week. Fella couldn't cast stright and took huff because I pulled his line in fool. I fish the end now out the way, Well until
someone stands 1cm away from ya and puts there rod stand up ha

Also to you 'markybroon', sorry to hear aboot your less than friendly encounters with those dodgy anglers...

Forgot to mention, looking at a few of the fish the caught, at least 3 of them were undersize, a flounder, a coalie, and summit else that a didnt quite see properly before its head was smashed of the ground..... :(

Cruel undersize fish taking ****s!

Had the same sort of encounter at mill dam a few weeks ago, 3 bellends on the walkway down to the boat jetty casting right over me and they also caught a few crabs and were crushing them against the jetty and the bollards, I was hoping one of them would fall off when they were climbing back over the fence

This irritated me in summer fishing at blyth jetties. Every kept pulling their lines in every 3 mins, then mine would come with it. We'd untangle it... and same again took it for about an hour and said something, then i got... Well then don't f****** cast over me then, then we wouldn't have a problem.... Should have corrected him and said, well if i did do that when you wound in mate you wouldn't be bringing me in :) But i didn't... i just moved to cambios and was rewarded with a brilliant session of flounder and coalies and a bass.

Just an estimate, I cast with a 5oz lead and it felt a little lighter than that! :o :D

Not saying i am a perfect caster, far from it. When the tide is flooding strongly it can be hard to hold bottom and lines do drift over and under each other, expecially when busy. But if the flood is flowing to your right i tend to cast enough to the left to allow it to sink somewhere close to straight and hopefully get a good hold. Its when people cast down into a river, most of the time straight over the top of other peoples lines that gets me. Also a four ounce wireless lead is never going to hold a strong tide. But you see it all the time. When it comes to kids and new starters we just have to be a bit more patient but if its folk you see week after week thats when it can become annoying. Dont mind anyone setting up close to me as long as we both try to respect each others space. Thats why i dont makkie bash in the summer.

Very true mate...

We where fishing a flooding tide but you get very good grip where we were, cast out, hit the bottom, no worries, but the twits where casting well over to the right and catching us... Rightly there dam fault.

In summer you have to put up with the crowds, and for the fishing to work well (for example on the end of shields pier) and to get my spot, I'll always fish 3 rods, 2 that get blasted rite out for the plaice, etc, and the one spinning rod for that and a bit float fishing.

A like to spread me gear about to where Im fishing, gives me more room to move amongst the chavs and drunks when fishing in the summer there :D. Me and me mates always do this, just makes the session easier... until you see your rod going and theres someone just cast there daylites over your bloomin line!!!

Thats why i dont go to peirs for makky, s.shields is just naff in summer. I went there and couldnt stand it. So i take the 2 hour bus ride up north where the chavs wont do the walk :) Much better, Both fishing and scenery :D
