The evidence for a long caught fish is, I reckon, in the eyes. Any competition angler wants his fish to be as heavy as possible at the weigh in so he keeps it in water, especially in the summer where 4 hours in the sun does serious damage (Gogs and I have had this conversation before somewhere I remember). This keeps that fresh look - something I struggle to achieve most mornings these days. Next goes the skin, that wrinkly look appears (God this is getting more like me) until you get that overall \"I\'ve been sitting at the Royal Quays too long\" syndrome and no-one wants to sit near you. Hope this makes you potential cheats feel worse.
