Alan, just a personal opinion, and if the site did contain info on other types of angling I wouldn\'t complain. I feel non Northern sea angling stuff is very well catered for elsewhere and the site could / should have affiliations and links to all of these areas. However, I feel it would detract from the main reason for this site being here.
1. Sea Angling
2. The NE (in no particular order)
This in no-way is meant to tighten down or exclude people, I just feel the site should keep focussed (shoot me I said focussed fuck)
In general I have no problems with the current forum I love it. It looks fine, works fine, is moderated very well and the contributions are great. Tony, are you looking for feedback on the Website as a whole? If so then are a number of things which could be done. At the moment the website IS the forum IMO. There\'s loads I\'m sure we as a group could do to develop things further.

We did have a freshwater angling area on a previous layout.........remember the \"Fluff Chucking\" forum ??

It was a popular area, especially during the Summer months.

I\'ve certainly got no objections to bringing it back (sorry, I should say creating it again, as \"bringing it back\" implies that the stuff previously posted would return).

However, as Ell has implied, this IS a sea angling forum (North East SEA Angling)........I\'ll go with whatever the majority want - if there\'s a demand, I\'ll start a new \"Fluff Chucking\" forum, if not, then I won\'t.

Ell,
I want to hear ANY suggestions, opinions, comments etc. on ALL aspects of what is currently available on NESA.

Hi Tony,

I\'m with Ell on this one, I think it should be solely for Sea Angling. The fishing marks section on the old site was excellent (I ended up printing it all of and putting it into a binder :) ), I think it would give some of the new members starting off fishing, or asking advice on marks, something to use as a reference.

Tony, an idea for the future - more use of video / flash animation. We could have casting techniques on video, rig making, knot tying, access to marks, boat handling, video catch reports etc. I\'d be prepared to team up with \"experts\" in some of these areas to help produce some video pieces.

sounds interesting m8,

Ell, Does sound good.........not sure about the logistics of uploading, though - bandwidth, etc.

Certainly, the hardware is available........
I have, at my feet at the moment (difficult to get me feet under the desk for the case)......this beastie.........

It\'s a brand spanking new Canon XL1s DV camcorder delivering broadcast quality images.

The quality is brilliant, Jim.
There\'s been a couple of movies made using just xl1s cameras.....the quality is THAT good.

Here\'s a link to a few clips from one of them.

The film\'s called \"28 days later\".......not really my kind of movie, but it gives you an idea of what the camera is capable of.

not very computer literate but could anything be done about having to log in as a member every few days , it gets to be a pain in the arse after a while. otherwise the site is tops !!

Hi TC,

The only other suggestion I have and someone has suggested it before is to share GPS positions for wreck/marks via some section in the forum. However, I\'m sure there will be reluctance by some.

I think the whole NESA thing is great, the site, the people and the crack. Great job TC and team!!

Thanks,
Jeff

working on that one, but as I\'ll post elsewhere its been a hellish month! But for now, watch this space

Michael Devlin..Not sure why it does\'nt keep you signed in but quite a few other sites i\'am reg\'d with are the same (Ebay for examble) you normally stay signed in for about five days or so,however i delete my temp internet files and cookies quite alot so you have to sign in again anyway. :D

here\'s a few suggestions chaps to make lfe more interesting...

direct links to things on the left, ie chat being part and parcel of this site not elsewhere, ditto other features like a gallery etc etc.

uploading of pics direct from the post you are creating

It strikes me that as a web site NESA is 90% Forum and 10 % other stuff that nobody looks at at so maybe some facility for content to be introduced by members, not just in forums but elswhere in the site. ie stick your own reviews, mark info, how-to type stuff etc etc. this is then available in one place rather than spread across many threads forums.

EDIT

a lifetime supply of special magic dust to members to use as they see fit (I\'ll take the Pablo Escobar flavour)

Another question thats worth asking here is, as well as what do you want to see here, how do you think it should look/be joined together etc.

More hair brained ideas as the vodka takes effect

Re GPS positions.........
To be honest, I can\'t really see the need for any reluctance in posting positions of wrecks........they\'re readily availble from other sources on the \'net, anyway.
The secret is.....knowing which wrecks hold fish and when they are fishing well.

Its the same with the shore fishing marks,I don\'t know why its a big secret. The only marks I won\'t post about is Bass fishing marks for obvious reasons.

Hi All

Being relativley new here my first comment is that I think NESA is great :D and thats why I joined this forum versus many others out there, but here are few suggestions/comments.

Annual comp sounds good to me it would be good to head North and meet a few of you for real.

Like the idea of reviews but agree that they need people to do them, (although it does stike me that we have a lot of comments/reviews in various chat threads, could these be integrated?)

Info on marks would be good speaking as a newcomer the more info the better, although I undertsand the sensitivity of some areas etc.

One last thought is that I often have some pretty basic questions to ask but often don\'t (although I know I should!), so how about a fishing basics section?

PS remembered to log in today so I didn\'t look like a guest!

Best Wishes
Will
