Could have been killed at Low Newton

Regardless of who has the fishing rights it cannot be acceptable to cast a lead at someone. This is a weapon and could cause serious damage.
If it could be proved that he deliberately cast at them it is a criminal offence.

Why should the lad move if he was thier 1st comp or no comp no excuses for casting at him regardless I would of waited till he baited up and cast out then traced his line and either cut it or pulled his rod and reel in

Couldn't have put it better myself stan ! As for it being a match, tuff sh@t. Why should he move coz of some bellend fishing a match ! 100yrds is plenty far enough away and as already said he could have easily waited for the lad to go past or cast in a different direction, not at him ! As per its a case of massive head match anglers thinking they own the coast and before anyone gets on my case about 'hating' match fishing, I fish matches so lick me bollocks

You name him then reg, if you can 100% guarantee it's that person.

Get yourself a good catapult & some 1-2oz bullet weights for next time, they cast at you then you fire back
Right at his squirrels handbag!!

so if your in a place where I want to fish I can cast a lead at you ? same difference. he should have pulled the fools gear in the drink.

I'm sure the angler didn't bait up a nice bait to chuck it at you or your yak it might of been close to you but it didn't hit you and it was only the once talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill

Why bleat on about it when you don't know the truth the Kayak is way to close if he is 100yds from shore you have all the ocean so move?

What a crock of ****e, If he went out in his kayak and nobody was fishing there he has every right to be 10,20,30, 100, 150 yards from the shore, if someone walks along and sets up and casts a lead towards him then I sure know who is in the wrong if the lad was killed, And as for all the ocean...the shore fisherman has all the shore he could have set up anywhere along there

You can see if someone is setting up its a big bay Newton ? Just use your nowse and move

Trouble with the emblestones is its such a long walk. Not as if you can easily move. Anyway is there any evidence the guy aimed at you. Just because he cast out doesn't mean he was trying to hit you. Probably just wanted to cast his bait in a productive area and not have his day spoilt, unfortunately sounds like you just want to paddle about to your hearts content. A little bit of give and take and both parties could have had an enjoyable day. Chances are you spoilt the fishing with all of the disturbance anyway.

He was there before the lad even come so why should he move? if I walked on to a skeer and seen a lad fishing from a kayak I sure wouldnt set up straight in front of him simply because I have common sense
