Could have been killed at Low Newton

He was there before the lad even come so why should he move? if I walked on to a skeer and seen a lad fishing from a kayak I sure wouldnt set up straight in front of him simply because I have common sense

Yes a nice polite conversation would have resolved any differences! Doesn't sound like that happened. If the kayak was in one place ok but the trouble is boats drift back and forth unless anchored! Boats and shore fishing just don't mix.

ask your self the question would you cast a lead out if there was anybody anywhere near you I think the answer would be no nobody has the right to say this is my fishing spot lets just say the lad on the yak was hit by this lead there would have been a outcry on here and rightly so sorry but that is unacceptable throwing a lead towards the lad in the yak no matter who is right or wrong

I was in two minds to call the Police, thats how close it was but new they probably wouldn't be interested

They should be, a lad was arrested earlier this year in Sunderland after casting from Roker pier and hitting a crew member of a boat.

The lad said he moved then went to go past them! If you seen a kayak going past would you hold your cast or not? I know I would regardless of how close.. As I said common sense!

Yes i would hold back but give each other space and you dont have to simples.

Right lets get one thing straight , yous sit there slagging the lad off who happens to be my mate who did not intentionally aim his lead at the kayak !! If he wanted to he could have hit him , and you say you were 100 yards out ? Thats a Load of bollocks you were more like 80 yards !! Yous are all quick enough to take this numptys side when none of yous were even there and even know the truth of what went on !! Anybody who knows us knows fine well we dont go out our way and target people with leads , at the end of the day you were going on like you owned the place when the fact is we have as much right as you do !! And if you had a problem and thought we were targeting you on purpose why didnt you come over and see us are call the police ? You did neither you just hurled abuse at us because we turned up to fish a match at a mark you were at and you didnt like it !! Then you come on a public forum trying to name and shame people !! Pretty sad imho

If they can reach you with a lead then you were obviously way too close to them.

Wtf wrong with you mate???? Dosent matter how close in he was
No one has the rite to chuck a 6oz lead at the bloke
If it was me ide of paddles over and wrapped the paddle around
He's ****ing neck simples!!!!!

yeh you are right.

this is a tough one. two sides to the story, yakkers and chuckers best stay far away from each other as possible.

funny there was summit on the t.v about a similar debate on rivers.

Bass fantastic , no one chucked a lead at him on purpose as I have just stated before , what it all comes down to is he wanted the place to himself thats the top and bottom of it , I was with the lad and it was nothing like hes making it out to be

Even casting in somebody's direction whether in a kayak, a boat, on a jet ski or swimming is stupid and totally out of order. It matters not who was there first or if anyone was being inconsiderate.

Even if your mate wasn't casting towards him on purpose, what if he cracked off and accidentally hit him? This would still be an assault as its obvious to any reasonable person that its reckless to cast a 5/6 oz lump of lead in the direction of anyone.

Theres always two sides to a story but let me make clear - CASTING EVEN IN THE DIRECTION OF SOMEBODY IS TOTALLY BLOODY STUPID WHETHER YOU MEAN TO HIT THEM OR NOT, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IT.

Not really, it might be inconsiderate but anyone should have enough common sense not to cat towards someone even if they are annoying you. Ite unacceptable behaviour.

The kayak might be getting in your way and on your wick but its not putting you in danger of injury, casting towards somebody could kill them.
