Could have been killed at Low Newton

common sense

that is wat is needed, unfortunaly seems it it slowly goin out of fashion seems to me both were at fault

the kayak for going too close where shore anglers were as there was an open on and the caster for casting as kayak was passing

This is the top & bottom of the story!
I myself took wat the original post was written about & thought how dangerous & stupid a bunch of fisherman on the shore were for casting a dangerous "missile" toward another angler!
No one came on to defend themselves until kieth123 shed light onto this with a different side to the story, I could have chose to agree with either side but realistically can't because I wasn't there to witness the happenings so have to agree with both sides.
Yes the kayak should have thought for his own safety & moved off a bit but why should he?
The shore angler should have waited till the kayak had gone or cast short or to either side but again why should he?
I think the main thing is no-one was hurt & now either angler can bear in mind next time the same situation happens to either do exactly the same or do different
But this has turned into a who to blame guessing game & I personally think this same type of post will be posted on the forum again soon
It's a no win argument as both were in the right & both in the wrong
& no one is prepared to take the blame & say next time I'll move off or I'll not cast out yet

That's it for me now I'm bored of this post
Yawn yawn yawn
I'm off to bang my head against the wall now

Well why don't you keep ya silly little comments to yourself and let it lie instead of going on and on like a broken record

Its about time this discussion was closed, only the people who were there know what happened and i am sure that as with most things in life both sides will put their own slant on the story.

The bickering is ridiculous and as somebody has already said if both parties involved had shown common sense then there would be no need for this discussion.

Somebody fishing in a spot where you want to be either on the shore or in a boat/kayak is hardly worth getting upset over in the first place.

I don't really care who was in the right or who was in the wrong in this case as those of us who weren't there will never know.

My final word on the subject is - There will never be a good excuse or reason for casting deliberately at or towards another human being whatever the circumstances so even if somebody ****es you right off don't do it, its not worth going to prison for if it all goes wrong.

read all the posts and me myself always move out when in yak when i see anglers coming to a point as the way i see it let them have the little fish ill move out and get the big fish but thats just the way i think the more distance out the bigger fish when on yak, yes aiming at another is bad news but 2 storys have diff angles and unless your there we carnt say
But as keith and the others have said it has been noted it has been said lets just close it.

cheers

mike

When I was on holiday in Cornwall a month back. I fished off some rocks. I was spinning with light gear. During my couple of hours I had Fishing kayaks, Ordinary kayaks and loads of coasteering people pass me by. In fact some climbed out on the rocks I was on.I just stopped for a minute and let everyone get on with their business. Think its a case of give and take.
