Counting down the minutes to the weekend...

Off out still water fishing for some Trout with my son up at Fontburn on Saturday, back home and dropping him off at his Grans for a week - good few beers Saturday when I get back, few more beers on Sunday and then out again fishing up at St. Mary's on Monday morning after dropping the wife off at work. :D

Anyone else got much planned?

Plenty of time to yourself enjoy it mate.
Good luck at fontburn you'll need it

Not fishing well at the minute then? haven't been up for a couple of months as it is normally difficult this time of year. Looking at the forecast for tomorrow I might give it a miss as the bairn is never happy fishing in the rain!

Got a few days off work next week and hopefully just doing a bit of lazy float fishing off the piers or rocks, any recommendations?

Don't think it's fished well for years tbh mate. Last decent day I had float fishing at fontburn, I must have been 11 year old and I'm now 25

Depends what the weather is like when you go and where on the water you fish - it's my usual fishing spot to be honest. Bagged up 4 times already this year. mainly stock fish like, nowt big. Do you get up there much? I am usually up there 2 or 3 times a month. havent been for the last 6 weeks or so though.

Me and the kids were on the cover of last years NWL fishing guide / magazine thing. This is us on the bottom left corner - my only claim to fame :) NWL mag

Have to say though I never float fish up there, I always either ledger or use the fly - never had any luck on the float.
