Me Codfather and mad rob got our passports out and headed up to isle of Whithorn on the west coast for doggies, wrasse and pollack hopefully
A new venue for me never been before
Set off 7.30 it was a 3 hour drive scenery was beautiful we seen bussards and the best looking black n white stripy cows that looked like pandas
Got to Whithorn for 11 amazing place to fish boys scenery was lovely
2 rods each and off we went to climb over the rock marks
1st cast for me and a nice bite the excitement of hopefully catching my first ever dogfish but instead in came a nice red Kelpy cod of about 3/4 lb

A great start baited back up with the maki strip and bang again I'm in again
This time a good fight and in came my first dogfish I was buzzing about 1 1/2 lb and nearly 2 ft long
We released it into a rock pool which led back to the sea

In 4 casts I had 3 fish and the boys were blanking ha ha
Then rob pulls in a nice doggie for his species hunt to
I got a doggie on the small rod wot a scrap boys great fun
The day was coming to an end as we said we were leaving at 6 to drive back
Last cast each the scores on the doors were
Me 4 doggies and 1 codling
Mad rob 3 doggies and a codling
And Codfather blanking and not having the best of sessions , losing loads of gear , falling on the rocks and no fish
2 mins to go and bang Codfather was into the fish only to get it to the surface and see it get off nightmare but he eventually dragged a doggie in to save the blank
Mad rob reeled the big rod in to take the most fish with a double shot of doggies caught on crabsticks again
We all caught fish ,fantastic weather and scenery a cracking days fishing
Also picked a carrier bag full of willicks, got the old man some of the biggest I've seen I also kept 2 doggies to scran as I've heard they are nice to eat
But honestly I felt guilty killing them as they are a lovely looking fish ,, like baby sharks
So for me a new species , new marks and win my 1 st Crabstick tourney in a foreign country life does not get much better
A big thanks to the boys for showing me the new marks and Stevie for the long drive up n down
Robs double shot
Hopefully next time we will bring the tents and stop over and get some pollack and wrasse to
P.s I won't be sharing a tent with rob as those cans of carling give him a worst smelling farts I've ever smelt and tasted boys unbelievable
