can you buy the above ultrafire batteries on ebay or maplins etc just got headlamp cree 1600 the batteries are much bigger than AA cheers lads nd lasses

1 hour from 2 batteries?!?!?!
How many do ya take for a sesh then lol
I was gonna buy a 1600 but I'll just stick to my 600 or whatever it is.

The batteries are usually ok, it is the charging circuit inside the headlamp that fails, this then causes the psu (the bit that plugs in) to fail also which does not charge the batteries fully. I bought a charger that charges two batteries at a time from ebay which I have had no problems with. The advantage of this is that it has the charging circuit and psu in one unit which allows you to fit a standard British 13amp fused plug to it instead of the dodgy far east plugs and adaptors. My Cree is still using the same ultra fire 18650 batteries that came with it two & a half years ago one battery lasts the night no problem at all when i get back i just turn the light on leave it so it more or less flattens then charge it.Three of of us got the lights at the same time one doesn't look after his & is forever buying new batteries the other treats his the same as me & his is still going strong on the same batteries. You're right about dismantling laptop batteries to get spares if you've got one theres a video on you tube somewhere showing how to do it

I just took a laptop battery to bits and got 6 out. Tops are flat and will need a bump of solder. They are charging individually. But when in laptop Nowt. So I guess 1 or 2 are knackered. Only 2400 mah but ok as spares I g
