Just looking on eBay and they now do a 4000 lumen version of the headlight everyone is buying, so we will need to wear sunglasses when night fishing now!

I've been fishing with the 1600 one for 18 month and it lasts me great as most of the time I use the dim setting for baiting up etc and the full setting for wading and pulling fish in.
I saw the 3200 lumen ones and thougt I'd upgrade but on the first time out with it found the battery died due to the low setting being like the high setting on the 1600 lamp the battery just going off has put me off as if I was wading off somewhere the last thing you want is your lamp to die without warning.
Just wanted to give yous the benefit of my experience oh and the battery was fully charged.

Thats the problem with them they give no warning when there about to die. Its happened to me on my bike a couple of times. 4000 is just daft the 1800 is too bright and dangerous for blinding people your fishing with.

just took a look at the Cree 4000 on eBay and guess what they do a 5000 lumen headlamp.If you get on the Roundhead with one of them through the night they can switch the light house light off!!!

Most buyers in the know have said the 4000's are brighter but doubt it's 4000 lumens. Also the battery goes down faster than a bird in the back streets of Blyth. I've got the 1800 with the 4 battery pack and it's very bright and battery's never went flat touch wood.

I've had the 1600 lumen variant but to be honest they do drain the battery really fast on the high setting so whats the point of it. The 300 lumen are more than bright enough for fishing, a lot of the top anglers I know use them. After all how far do you need to see, and it is more sensible to stay safe and not have a battery die on you. They are great for bait digging too. I bought two on ebay, use one, carry a spare. Totally agree with Harry's post there.I also bought the 1600 lumen rechargeable and the battery life is hopeless.its just too powerful for the battery size and when they do die you get no warning it just goes dead.I tested both batteries on a full charge and they were both dead within 45 mins!
The 300 lumen 5 watt zoomables are 10 times better,they are still very bright and I get 2 4 hour sessions out of 3 x AAA batteries.they are so cheap and light I always carry 2 or 3 and have come to the rescue of a lot of my pals with them.
Make sure you get the zoomable one though.

Very simsilar to the one's I posted Marco, but just be careful as although they say from the UK on that link, if you check the seller is Hong Kong based which can sometimes take an age to arrive, especially with the Chinese New Year coming up.
