hi goin up the caravan friday nite golden sands creswell just wunder were to fish ? any help would be great thanks .

I fish Cresswell quite often and if you are stopping at Golden Sands caravan park then you are only yards from one of the better marks. Simply head right out of the gates and cross the road and head towards the small car park at the top of the beach. Go down the steps and your there. Best to have a look at low water as it`s quite rocky but there are plenty of sandy stretches between the rocks. It`s good here for flatties and the occasional bass. If you go left out of the gates continue up the road for about 200 metres until you come to the ice-cream shop, go down the steps and the choice of fishing spots is endless. To the right and straight in front is the rocks known as the Carrs, the fishing from the rocks can be really good but be aware of the tide coming round behind you. If you prefer open, clean sandy beaches then head off to your left, look for any holes or gulleys where the fish like patrol as the tide comes in. This whole area is really a low tide venue and is best fished from 1 hour before low water and about 3-4 hours after. Short casts of maybe 25 - 45 yards is all thats needed here. Expect flatties and bass in the breakers with the odd coalfish thrown in. Best bait either rag or lug tipped with mackerel or squid. Hope this is of some help. Have a great time and good luck.

Just down the stairs from the ice-cream shop, 1.5hrs each side of H/W. A cast of 40-60yards will put you in the channel between the rocks and the beach. Private beach, below the caravan park. Fish the north end of the beach, low water up best time. North end of cresswell carrs (the big island), for flatties, south end into the kelp for codling. Access is via a concrete pipe but don't stay on for too much of the flood as it gets cut off quickly. If there is a bit of surf on, anywhere along the H/W rockline you stand a chance of a bass on plugs. hope this helps!

quiet daytime at the moment
had a couple of coalies over highwater on private beach friday night

no sign of the bass yet along the coast but did see black headed terns diving in the chanel behing the carrs at highwater on saturday so some sandeels/bait fisf starting to move closer to the shore
