Crimdon Dene

Well I feel a it bad now describing Crimdon Dene as "none too saloubrious" in my thread earlier in the week. This was due to our caravan in the summer having a few wee niggles. TV didn't work on the night we arrived and wasn't fixed until the next afternoon. The gas fire also didn't work at all and the carpet was really muddy. However for what we paid, it wasn't the end of the world and after 2 nights they moved us, so no real problems.

This time we have a lovely caravan and on arrival we were given a £25 voucher to spend in the restaurant/bar. What a fantastic guesture!

We had a look at the menu and nothing special jumps out, so I suppose we will just have to drink the £25.

Can't wait :) :)

Mark, When the pits were open it was a weekend getaway for the mineworkers, the place used to be bouncing throughout the summer months.
I called in on the way back from hartlepool a couple of weeks ago, first time in ages, and couldnt believe how it has changed..:o:(

Yup, watched a documentary about Butlin's recently. Very interesting. The invention of the package holiday abroad killed it stone dead.

Right off to the onsite bar to drink their kindly gifted £25 drinking vouchers.

On the beer 2 nights in a row :)

Will try not to chuck a pint over the table tonight Rob! :red:

Well at the on-site bar a £25 voucher buys you 7 pints, so 3.5 each, a packet of crisps and a 30p tip to the barman :)

I have brought shore gear Phil.............well such as it is! Hoping to get a wee session in. Stevie-r may take us out, otherwise maybe just try the beach in front of the caravan site.
