When is the best time to fish there, was thinking about going there if i can get me uncle to go , since he has got the transport and all. Has anyone fished there lately and if they have, did they get out and what did they get them on.

wading is out of the question, heard that u can get cut off at the harbour, is anyone fishing there any time soon maybe i cud tag along one time. Dont no anythig about that area, looking to get out to different places, since most of my fishing is in sheilds and in the tyne

marksy hi aint seen you on here in a while ,if you drive into cullercoats ,go past the pub on the bend and turn into the housing estate on the right (heading north) take a sharp right as you get into the houses and drive down to the end ,you should see a ramp park at the bottom and you can fish nancys whatsitsface at hi water or walk down the steps on the far left for low water ,keep checking the tide on the flood but you should be ok as theres a sandy stretch out from the wall with rocks to either side ,let me know how you get on as im giving it a shot myself over the weekend ;)

Marks, see my report morning from hell, should give you some info on cullercoats harbour, fish from the south side rocks and DONT go wading as you will only do it once

Hi bri dont no if am gana go there yet , got to see me uncle and see when he\'s off wrk, he\'s just started wrking on a new job so it mite be for a while but wen i do get to go i want to be fishing in he rite spots, so any info on it and around that area i wud love to hear from ppl

Marksy,

IanW and me were down there last night, we got nowt but a lad along from us had a couple of codlings, we only stayed about 2 hours.

If you fish the north side at low water, I reckon you\'d be ok in wellies if you watch where you are walking!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY by the way!

Got to agree with AC. If you fish the gullies its not too bad but if you want to fish in the main harbour gut you\'re restricted to one main rock on big spring tides. Not the place for the faint hearted. Much better to fish the south side, on the flat skeers. Fish any time the skeers are bare but expect more on the flood than the ebb. Watch when the skeers get awash as it happens quickly. Thats also the best side for fish.

Some very good advice there, Marksy.......from the guys who know.

Here\'s a couple of pix of the area: both are from the same location on the North side, looking South..........

The only other things I would suggest are to be carefull getting onto the marks on the south side.

I came over the base of the pier and wondered just how the hell I was going to get down the rocks. Then noticed off to the left a few foot sized indentations heading to the bottom.

Question....did these get hacked in or is it just through years of people fishing there???

If your not a mountain goat in you spare time there\'s always high water from the Prom on the North side. Follow Bribones\'s directions and head for the corner nearest the pier.

Thinking of heading that way Sunday night for a couple of hours...might take wor lass if dhe fancies it.

Footprints have been there as long as I\'ve been going down Ian. Once you know where they are it\'s easier than it looks but I\'ve seen a few come a cropper (me included), especially on the skeers as soon as you get on the bottom as they always seem slippier than they look. There is also little relief on the rock ends themselves as they\'re always weedy. Just got to take care, especially in the dark.

ps TC those 2 photos are almost identical. Did you hold the pose for 6 hours ??? Impressive mate

TCs pics are the spot i gave directions to perfectly safe at high water with ample room to back off at low water to the steps on the left or the pier to the right as i say just keep your eye on the tide, not really bad on the snags if you cast out into the middle of the skeers

PS im nicking them pics if thats ok tony ;)

pic below proper low water lol

I find the easiest way to get onto the south marks is to park on the ramp down to the north of Tynemouth beach and walk accross the rocks. Piece of cake.
