i have had good nights up there in winter havent heard off any good fish for ages now. I fish up there ever 2 weeks but go to beadnell around the low water marks

thats the thing with cullernose, it LOOKS a great mark but is rarely productive iv only ever had a few tiddlers after about 7 visits at different tides seasons etc. alot of people say its overated and i have to agree

It fishes well immediately after a big northerly sea. if you get there too late the fish dissapear!!

Beware of big swells its a dangerous mark and the rocks are slippery as hell!

I once saw a guy hit the deck, face first there - not a pretty sight, he was walking with his hands in his pocket and slipped on the rocks.

Fished off it for an hour from the boat 1.4 miles off only got 1 codling and a few whiting using crab and macka bait.

I tried it last week, along with black hole, got a 3lb dogfish and a couple of small codling, as chukka says once the sea dies down there's nawt to hold the fish there for long.
You find the place gets potted off too!

Amazing place, it just screams fish with the location and the depth. But it doesn't seem to produce the goods. What's that doctors house mark like further along? I fished it once and just got snagged fast every throw. How far do you have to chuck to clear the snags?

Casting directly off the front at low water on the ebb your into extremely rough ground. On the flood if you let the tide pull you round your onto fairly clean ground. You can actually get away with 2 hooks. It does produce like most marks, you just have to know when to fish it!

Doctors House can produce at any time and a lot of lads have switched to lighter line 18-20lb, a good chuck (100yds plus) will put you into mixed ground and some tide run. This is often the key to catching especially in daylight!!

totally agree with that, all i've ever seen caught off that mark are small flatties and coalies. Much better marks up the coast than cullernose

Never had much luck at Cullernose point looks a spot on mark but the fish are few and far between for some reason. And take care if theres a bit sea rolling in can be a dangerous mark.
