i wonder if anyone can giv me a bit of advice , am currently thinking of getting a heavy ground reel ,which is also capable of chucking out a distance, but not sure which one to go for , they are a daiwa sl30 sh and a daiwa slx30shv has anyone got a slx30shv and what are they like , heard a few good reports of the slosh but not sure about the slx any help isappreciated ,thanx

Both will serve you equally well. I own an SL30 and SHV30 and would say the SHV is a bit faster. Depends whatmoney you have to spend.

Hi..well i had the same problem as you, i have always used ABU reels as i love the easy casting they give but because i could not get a good conditioned abu 9000 i started looking at the reel market, in the end i went for a daiwa sealine-x 30shv and i must say there good for casting and they had the power to battle fish out of the kelp.I got mine for £110

I don\'t think there\'s much of a difference between them,as Jimbob says its down to £££.Look after it well and it will last you a lifetime, its also suitable for boat fishing as well,a friend of mine uses the 20 and he swears by that as well but you may as well get the 30 as they are the same price. The reel sits quite high so you need large (ish) hands to get your thumb around the spool,i use a 525mag as well and there is a slight difference in the height.
