Dead Whale

Been on the beach today playing with a dead male Long Finned Pilot Whale and taking pics.... if you are a sick puppy like me and wanna have a look, the pics are up on my site in the nature and wildlife gallery under \'gruesome gallery\'

oh yeah, anyone know how to clean the last of some stinking sinew off of it\'s teeth?

Paula, if your taking the teeth out of the whale, you just need to boil them and add salt to the water. if not then I can only sugest a large tube of colgate and a big brush.

stink was not too bad really, well for me anyway, don\'t know about Davey as he looked like he was giving it mouth to mouth at one point! it was cool up here this morning and drizzly so it kept the smell down until this afternoon i bet when it warmed up considerably here!
was great fun holding the jaw open for the pictures

I was actually taking a few teeth for ageing... real crowd parter that, when I pulled out a pair of pliers and yanked a few teeth :angel:

Still we had great fun measuring it up and taking pix etc.. - 6 meters is top size for a Pilot.

The image of the damage to pectoral fin area immediately reminded me of the scene in jaws 2 when the killer whale is washed up with bite marks in it.....Stay out of the water Paula!
