first bash at the big watta this year. wind did its best to knack the job (again) but enjoyed me day all the same:) 9 club lads out which was nice to see. i fished cronkley, the meadow, millshield and the last hour in the bay of P. i managed 4 (could of been 24 the amount of nips and pulls i had:rolleyes:) all to black lures slow and deep, another lad had 5, same craic (all 9 from millshield) and there was 5 blanks. the other 2 lads bagged up in an hour this arvo:o:o:o. they stuck the wind on the north shore like the rest of us till about 2ish then headed round to pow hill for a bit respite. apparantly they had just started fishing when the gadgee in his truck landed and started re stockin reet next to them!!!! crash, bang, wallop, ta very much. we tried the 'its not cricket' approach but it fell on deaf ears, some people know no shame:red: anyway, 'sheeps heed' took the honours with 8 for 16 3/4lb and was awarded with a free day ticket courtesy of one of the rangers (thats canny of them that like isn't it)
great day out despite the wind and cold, but it'll not be long before wa 'tekkin them of the top' in wa shirt sleeves! roll on the summer:p till next time.....

I have seen the lads restocking at Pow Hill and the Bay of Plenty. I was fishing one day with the bu--ers swimming around me. Surprisingly i struggled to catch out - think the fish must have been in a daze getting thier freedom. They also re-stock up on the North Shore but have not seen this.
One of the rangers told me a lad caught 2 Tiger trout on Sunday. I think its something like £400 a fish. Tried my heart out on Monday for one of the fellas but to no avail.
Not surprised some lads blanked Dicky it was hard work for me.
Mick.
