I,m going to join up lads.
I,ve got my eye on a 7ft fly combo rod/reel and 3-4 float line from AMH angling at Annflield Plain for £65. Perfect for overgrown river banks.
Saw a lad last night with a lovely Brownie caught at Allensford.

Nice one. I joined last year and had a great summer's fishing on the river - worth every penny. I even managed to catch the odd fish despite being pretty useless!

That set-up sounds about right - it can get very overgrown in the summer, so enjoy the luxury of a careful back cast while you can! Now that the weather's starting to warm up a bit, it shouldn't be long before the fish wake up a bit too - I don't think I've seen more than a couple of fish rising so far. (And I'm still to get off the mark yet!)

Hi.

This time of year, bugging will catch most of the fish in the deeper water. I have fished the DAA water for a lot of years and have fished most of the river. Small spider patterns will work when the fish are high, but for the majority of the water, try fishing the bugs in all different varieties and mathods.

Got the rod and reel today. Loaded with 4 floating line. Went to the river 7 pm but far to much water rushing through off the heavy rain we have had.
