plenty of sprats about lol seriously though has to be the worst period yet in years
Alan, just do an "all our yesterdays" report, and Sam just give us a "country & western slot" no one will mind.
it might come to that, it would be alright if there where any fish in club matches, but stacks have nobody weighing in, just think a few weeks ago we where having the best catches for many years, now "nowt, zilch", blanco.
well for a change it isnt the trawler lads as they have a limit now which is well caught.lots of cod in the 1st trawl for the month.quota now caught,all fish stuffed with sandeel yes sandeel,apparently lots of big shouls of them and small white bait just offshore,cod will be feeding out there for now.we need a good blow and now melt water then they will move back inn hopefully.

Aye Ryan , it will change next week after the high pressure and winds move across the country and turn to low pressure with rain, and winds from the norwest, turning south, that should do the trick. If that temperature rises quickly it might bring in the lunkers a month early.

This isnt meant to be a thread hijack but i'll do it anyway! Have either of you(alan and sam) ever saw this happen before? What i mean is, have you ever saw cracking reports of fish all over the place to all of a sudden nowt, like someone has turned off a switch? The reason i ask is because you guys will know more than most on the site, cheers.
yes Jamie used to happen a lot when the shoals of sandeels and white bait came in, but there was always still a few around to catch, and the fish always came back after a short while, after a big sea or the bait fish just moved away, hope the fish do this time. The sandeel shoals seem to be making a come back, maybe conservation methods are starting to work, it is all good for the eco system, bit frustrating for the angler.
Dont all feel that bad its exactly the same down here in Hampshire one big Desert,the South Coast Premier League ISACS match fished saturday night,mostly everyone blanked, winner had 1lb 8oz and that was made up of pouts and slugs(rockling),no size limit,am talking 10/12cm fish makes you wonder why we bother.Pity about the club match Gary did nt miss much after all looks like.Still we ll be out next week at home cant wait.
