My opinion is- take it up with the Skipper at the time :p

Did the skipper put you on the fish or try to place you in a position where you could potentially catch fish if they were feeding? Was the skipper appropriate in terms of safety and/or the well being of his party?
If the answer is yes to both of the above I suggest there's no cause for concern.

Got on the. Boat took money straight from us before we even set of, usually u pay at the end of a trip. Said we were going 7 mile off took us to places ware u could have reached in the yak within half an hour u couldn't move on the boat no space too many people for the size of the boat said we were over wrecks but everytime I've fished wrecks u can feel them u could just feel the lead dragging along the bottomin the sand all in all a disopointing day

You just sound upset to not have caught any fish pal

Boat fishing is like shore fishing mate sometimes the fish are there and sometimes there not. You can blank on a boat aswell as the shore

If he took you out and looked for fish then you have not been ripped off
As kayos says you should have took it up with the skipper on the day
I dont think youve been ripped off

diablo is a 28ft vessel licenced for 12 passengers and 2 crew, were there more than 14 people on board,i doubt it as kayos said you should have mentioned to skipper at the time:exclam:

If the skipper took the money and stated his intention was to head out to some seven mile wrecks, he should have kept his word (unless the weather changed and it was prudent to stay close to home). I take your point about feeling a sandy bottom when you were suposed to be over the wreck but Diablo was formerly a dive boat so I'm sure his GPS and Sonar will be on the money in terms of accuracy.

I've been on the boat many of times and blanked but we have been told before hand its been quite before we have set sale. The skipper told us you couldn't get passed the cod which sounded promising. Was a very priffesional skipper when he was trying to catch the guls with mackeral on a trace hmmm as we were coming back in a few lads on the boat were also disappointed so I wasn't the only one feeling let down. Next time I book a trip I will be going with skippers I have already been with

sorry lads, but if a had a dispute/problem, a would`nt have got off the boat without asking/voicing my opinion.
then, a would come on here and tell the whole story and the outcome.
but that`s just me......!

You couldnt get passed the cod ?? The cod are on the bottom !! Anyway why would you want to get passed the cod ??

You found out for yourself that it was quiet
Its also not the skippers fault that the fish werent there or feeding

Maybe to get to the Mackerel :question:

I've heard that Diablo is under new managenent with a new skipper who has just started chartering so it sounds like he is still finding his feet. Obviously the established charter boats will be recluctant to share their secrets so maybe he should follow Slinky, Stingray or Grace until he gets to grips with the area.

The skipper we had mate said he'd been doing it for years a lad who was on the boat said he had fished of there when it was at hartlepool and it wasn't up to much then obviously moved down here for a reason

no relation of billyturbot are you

heard al this crap before.....!

Haha, good one Davey!

It seems to me he caught not very much and is on a moan!!

Christ, if I complained about every trip where I caught nowt, I would be posting here all the time!

A charter Skipper does his best to get you fish...........Obviously.

If he didn't, he would be out of work pretty damn quick.

Why do some guys not understand the obvious??
