Digging bait

I'm not going to ask anyone where is the best places but I want to know how you can find out which beaches you aren't allowed to dig as I want to take some kids digging as part of their education. Can anyone tell me where I can find this out?

you are allowed to dig a boulmer to the right of the posts and also holy island which i belive is marked out on a sign at the start of the causway.hope that helps

Hopefully you'll have had a few PM's Mog. Taking the kids digging sounds like a fantastic thing to do. The whole process - from bait to belly (or back in the water) are you going to teach the young uns how to cook fish as well?

The middens at North Shields is worth a go on a big tide for king ragworm.

Mog - Boulmer's possibly the best place unless you get a proper tip off.

The kids will definetly get a few worms every forkful which should get them buzzing
