Double Figure Cod !!

after seeing chrissy's 14lber on here just now it got me thinking how many forum members have been lucky enough to land a double figure cod ?
also does anybody know who's had the most doubles around here ?
it would be interesting to hear a few details of the weight, bait, when, where's and hows of those in the double club and maybe a pic of the beast.

Very very good fish them barney rubbles,only had the one double figure cod n had one ray over 10lb myself,there's one particular venue nr me throws up some right pig's me pal had an 18lb+ from there a couple of winters back

i can vaguely remember dave hayley talking about doubles while fishing the lobster pots that a lad he knew had over 20 doubles mostly local too, might of been bob wood but could be wrong, sure dave will put me right

There was a little -hite who left this forum a while ago,a good friend of mine use to fish with him and he reckoned he had quite a few to his name.

I have witnessed 2 doubles pulled in from Steetley and it was a pleasure to handball up one of those fish....tell you what mind I felt totally responsible at the time and I was as nervous as the lad about it coming off!
My grandad has some pictures of a few doubles he caught from Horden and Arbroath many many years ago

Never came close myself, my recent PB set at 7.5 and that had taken a long time to beat my previous.

It is my ultimate goal...not sure what I will do after I finally achieve it

only nicky and hound hunter will admit to being in the club so far, surely there's more members than that who have had a double! haway lads

I had three in one session on the blast beach back in the early 90's best went 14lb when the pits were still grafting + and also weighed 3 in club comps over the years don't know total number but will be more than 10

I've had 4 doubles but that's in 30 years of fishing. 16lb 14, 12lb 8, 10lb 13 and 10lb 10. I know lads who have fished for 40yrs and never had one. Luck of the draw!!

Have had 2 Doubles, both from the Heugh in Hartlepool. First was 10lb 15oz the second 14lb dead which was returned as I couldn't bear to kill it lol.

I've had two, 11-8-0 from The end of Roker and 10-10-0 from Pensioners corner down the lane. Lost an absolute pig on the south pier at sunderland though, easy over 15lb.

Learnt a lot off bob wood, what he didn't know about fishing the north east coast wasn't worth knowing. Top bloke and angler, god rest his soul.

I have had 2 doubles. One when 16 from hummersea old harbour, my pb just over 13lb After moving to north of the Tyne last year after 15 years in the army, started fishing again. Managed one in my first season back fishing. 10lb 4oz from cullercoats.

My fathers pb is 17lb odd from the same spot I caught my pb. But he has had over 10 doubles from hummersea and boulby alone in the 80's and early 90's. My best one this season so far is 9lb dead. Cullercoats also.
