I saw a good doubler caught today by a very good angler. I,ll leave any more info up to the catcher.
Mick--ps i caught a very small cod,big whities and a big flattie.
any info greatly appreciated and your uncles catch as well dizzy
uncle rang me earlier said he had 4 decent cod on the huegh down in hartlepool never said how big they where tho but i know him and they will be decent i also been told that that while he was there a fish in doubles had been caught roughly around about 14lb but not a 100% on that one im presuming by the sounds of it the big fish came from the steps just on the bottom of the pier past the fence thats all i know,im hoping to get out tomorrow and find some sort of form and restore all faith in fishing the season iv had its gonna be hard to find any form at all lol
I heard of a good fish just under 8lb caught today at blackhall, alot better than I done today ,thats for sure !
It was John Wilson again, Alan. The same guy who took the 27lber from the Tyne last season. It was believed to be around 12lb.
it was only 10lb
He also had 2 doubles in the same night, from Middleton a few years back.
i agree mick ,for the time of the season the way the seas been and it was perfect on sunday ,and me and some good pals anglers were scattered all around the north east coastline with good anglers next to them also on good marks where id bet money youd clip summat good ,it was very very poor ,infact it was pants realy bad , i really dont think theres enough fish there. Its out of the bag. Yeah it was John. Steve Walker took his photo with it. Fish caught off the end and walked round to the steps.
Overall i would say it was still poor fishing. Some very good anglers on and some top dollar bait.
Ony saw about 4 cod caught and the rest were nowt to write home about.
Still it was nice to see some action at last.
Mick.
