dropper pulley or pulley dropper :-S

untitled-17.jpg

Asked the same question elsewhere and managed to figure out what one is - and made it....have a look at the bottom pic of the two

It's virtually like a pulley rig except the snood "drops" down the trace line on a bait clip gemini clip or a cascade swivel

Dimensions I used were 27cm for Trace Body and 21cm for Snood Length

cheers great will look into it :) here what they said

Issue 438 (March 19 - Apri 15), page 44-45, you will find all the information on the pulley-dropper rig.

Here's a real pic of the droppers I've started making...

Components:

1 x Size 2/0 Rolling Swivel
1 x Size 1 Rolling Swivel
1 X Cascade Swivel
3 x 5mm Beads
1 x Bait Clip/Lead Link

Tied on 60lb Mono for main trace and 40lb mono for hook snood

Dimensions 27cm'ish for main body and 21cm'ish for hook snood

Hook size is obviously down to given situation but the one on the pic is a 6/0 Sakuma Manta Extra

The only thing I'd change as per the rig I've tied here is the hook snood needs to be a smidge longer

does the cascade swivel not straighten out when casting

on the powewr gum on that rig, what is on the power gum to make the loop

do you mean for the bait stop? it's not power gum...it's just silicone tubing

as to the cascade straightening out - I dunno yet...am yet to fish with it...the alternative is a gemini clip if the cascade fails in this use

i posted the 1st post at the same time as you posted yours,i was refering to the other rig in that link
with the red power gum loop
let us know how that rig goes tho

hi sless as i said earlier in this thread a only knew of either pulley or dropper
not a combination of the two, now a seen a picture of this rig a believe ollie out your club uses the the pulley dropper or summit very similar and swears by it hope this helps

Bob, if you "Google pulley dropper rig", you can see a picture of the rig in detail, held with a genie link on another forum.

I used a pulley dropper for the first time on Sunday. Tied the same as The Great Wallsendos but with a gemini clip instead of a cascade swivel. Worked really well, didn't tangle once and seemed to catch the bigger fish.

i use pulleys all the time and i seen a bit in sea angler saying it was a good rig so i tried to find info on it and got this http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/Diagrams/Pulley Rig (1).jpg It has no info on it like length... so its unknown to a novice like me the scale, its called a dropper or short pulley rig but i have no idea how short lol

do the crimps on this rig not defeat the object of a pully rig,

i tie my "dropper rigs" the same at in Tonys pic but i use bait clips instead of the cascade swivel and on the end of the main line.

well ive tied half a dozen with cascade swivels, and pulled quite hard and they seem to be strong enough
lets see if they work then
cheers
