I don't know about Dunstanburgh, but Cullernose, after a patchy start to July and a sudden flurry of hectic activity a couple of weekends ago (at the same time as mackerel turned up in huge numbers everywhere else) has been crap for the past couple of weeks.

Patchy at best. Empty at worst.

Launce are still coming in, some very big, but the feed doesn't seem to be there. The terns that you'd expect don't show up and the gannets seem to be feeding a lot further south - they just pass through on their way to feed or on their way back to the colony at Bass Rock.

By the way, I wish the dirty sods who get there (mainly at weekends) would take their tat away with them when they go. The place is a tip, tackle packets, food wrappers, beer cans and pop bottles all over the place, especially on a Monday morning). They wreck it for the rest of us.
