EU Cod record beaten

That is 56 miles from where i am going this year, i told that fish not to take anything silver or orange before we get there in July :)

Same as me i just want to beat my PD of 24lb, TBH i cant see my 15-20lb class rods i am taken be able to land that. We just need to hope for the weather so we can get out on the boat and if its nice we will find the fish :)

lol i thought this would stir some excitement in you :D 56 miles isnt that far really...lets hope your rod can handle them monsters:exclam:

wow must be nice for the norway fisherman to catch fish like that. theres loads ov big cod in there waters due to the fact no other fishing boats can fish there waters but they rape our waters. well dun to the guy but hate the laws on were boats can fish and were they crnt

Now that's a hell of a fish. Shame they can't run the guantlet past all the nets and trawlers to arrive on our coast nowadays.

thats what fishings all about never knowing when its your turn to catch the big piggy and your right davey we should learn something from them and stop the inshore nets fishing are water's and one day we mite catch better fish

This time of year you get all the Artic cod comming close in to spawn, the fish are harder to find but when you find them a double a drop is not uncommon and fish to 30lb get caught daily, some mates are going in a few weeks time so i look forward to their reports. We go in July, not as many big fish around as most the piggys have moved back out to sea but the numbers of fish go up and the shoals of coalie to 25lb increase as the days go on.It is a great part of the world and an area i ahve wanted to fish all ym boating life, the price is what holds most of us back and the 16hrs+ of flights, ferry's etc but your best chance of a new PB.

As always weather is key, poor weather you wont get out fishing, good weather and abit of luck in finding the marks holding fish and you could be winding up doubles every drift.

In Norway they do treat the waters well both river and sea, infact i was told the port we are going to fish from has 2 Russian trawlers tied up as found fishing in the Norway waters.

European Record Cod

if you look closely lads a think you`l find thats bates staithes in blyth, and on the other side of the water is the stockpile of roadsalt. if am not mistaken this fish has been tagged, it has been caught and released many times up the river.
